This was great until 47%. I don't usually buy books under 200 pages, I just don't think there's enough room in 100 pages for a story. But honestly, this would have been totally fine if we then didn't go completely off the rails at 47%. And i mean off the rails. I went from reading a sweet story about a man who'd been protecting his girl from the shadows to a story about a crazy man with zero sense, a baby, a love triangle, the original bad guy forgotten, a revenge quest, and honestly, so done right now. WHY? It's like she ruined her own story. I returned it, DNF. Should be more like DNR though.Product details

This is the first book I've read by this author. Loved Shadow. Broken male H is a favourite of mine. Was a quick read that I enjoyed. Will follow the series because I am interested in finding out the stories of the other club members.
Great story line but writing seemed a bit messy. Would be excellent if it was proofread better and cleaned up a bit.
Really enjoyed this series of the Defenders Motorcycle club. I missed a couple that were not on K.U. But I loved all the characters and the writing was very good.
It was ok kind of dragged out a lot and had trouble connecting with the main characters. You already knew what would happen,but a lot of dragging it out
Shadow is a very broken man. He lived through some horrible things as a child. He even gets worse the more he's asked to do for his club and to protect Lacey. Lacey has been on the run from the Devils for most of her life.
A great beginning to a new series. This is the first time that I read anything by this author. This is my second time reading this book. I really enjoyed Lacey''s and Shadow's story. There was just something that captivate me. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

I felt bad for Shadow. Lacey did not treat him as a loving woman treats her man. The emotional cheating was the bottom line for me. After Lacey does that, the book was over for me. I won't give away the details, but it was awful for Shadow to see. True love doesn't just turn off. Lacey knew Shadow was a troubled soul, either she could deal or she couldn't. Obviously she couldn't. No way this couple would make it in the real world.
